چکیده

A technique for audio data hiding by using subband amplitude modulation was evaluated by computer simulations in terms of robustness with respect to the cumulative effects of reverberations, background noise, and encoding and decoding with a speech codec. Speech signals from 22 speakers and signals from 100 pieces of music were used as the host audio data. Computer simulations revealed that speech and music signals with background noise and reverberations were able to transmit at least 80% of the embedded data at 8 bps after encoding and decoding using the Adaptive Multi-Rate (AMR) speech codec at a bitrate of 12.2 kbps. In actual measurements in a reverberant room using a cell phone terminal, data hidden in a 12.2-kbps AMR recording having a signal-to-noise ratio of 20 dB was detected at a mean bit error rate of 15 %. The sound quality degradation induced by data hiding was objectively measured using the perceptual evaluation of speech quality (PESQ) and perceptual evaluation of audio quality (PEAQ) algorithms. The average PESQ score of the speech signals approximately corresponded to a subjective evaluation of ‘fair’, while the average PEAQ score of the music signals corresponded to a somewhat lower subjective evaluation of ‘slightly annoying’.

A survey on digital data hiding schemes: principals, algorithms, and applications

This paper investigates digital data hiding schemes. The concept of information hiding will be explained at first, and its traits, requirements, and applications will be described subsequently. In order to design a digital data hiding system, one should first become familiar with the concepts and criteria of information hiding. Having knowledge about the host signal, which may be audio, image, ...

Spectral Magnitude Adjusted Data Hiding in MCLT Domain of Audio Signal for Robust Acoustic Data Transmission

Data hiding in audio signal enables acoustic data transmission by playing back the data-embedded audio and by recording the signal and extracting the data at receiver like mobile devices. In our previous work, we proposed an audio data hiding system for acoustic data transmission, of which the audio quality and transmission performance are suitable, based on phase modification of the modulated ...

Audio Re-Synthesis based on Waveform Lookup Tables

Transmitting speech signals at optimum quality over a weak narrowband network requires audio codecs that must not only be robust to packet loss and operate at low latency, but also offer a very low bit rate and maintain the original sound of the coded signal. Advanced speech codecs for real-time communication based on code-excited linear prediction provide bandwidths as low as 2 kbit/s. We prop...

Text Data Fusion to Speech Signal Using Hash Function Algorithm

Proposed paper work concentrates on the secure transmission of text data when digital contents are commonly distributed by Internet and more security attacks are appeared from eavesdropping, data exposure and data tampering. In this paper we concentrate on hiding some secret text into a real time speech signal considering PSNR (Peak-Signal-to-Noise Ratio) and duration of speech signal as key pa...

پنهان نگاری وفقی براساس پیچیدگی نسبی پیکسلها در تصاویر دوسطح

In recent years steganography has attracted the attention of many researchers. Steganography can be used in media such as still image, audio, and video. Image is one of the most frequently used media. One of the forms of presentation of an image is halftone. In this paper a method is presented which hides data in halftone images. The data hiding process is performed during the halftoning step. ...
